“Dr. Greg”, as his patients call him, is a wonderful dentist who happily treats patients throughout Brevard County. At Gentle Dental Associates, located in Melbourne, Florida, he focuses on providing patients with the healthy and natural looking smile they desire by utilizing his training in cosmetic and general dentistry.
Attending the University of Florida College of Dentistry instilled a passion for learning in Dr. Greg, and he continues to cultivate this with extensive continuing education training. By working in an office that serves a broad age demographic, infants to the elderly, he has been able to put to use a wide range of learned techniques to help achieve what the patient wants.
Dr. Greg is a Fellow of The Academy of General Dentistry but has not stopped his learning there. Continued training at LVI has provided him with the knowledge to provide beautiful cosmetic results for his patients. Also through training at LVI, Dr. Greg has focused on implants and orthodontics. The majority of implant needs can be met right there in the same office without the need for a referral.
Modern orthodontic training has led to both doctors planning their cases as “non-extraction” cases. The goal is to eliminate the need to pull teeth to “make room.” As an Invisalign certified doctor, Dr. Greg also has the option for patients to choose clear aligners to straighten their teeth.
Keeping up to date, including continuing education and study groups with his peers, is a top priority to be able to deliver the most appropriate treatment to his patients. Dr. Greg served on the board of the Brevard County Dental Society for a number of years, also serving as the Society President.
Staying current with dental technologies is a must in the profession and they certainly do that at Gentle Dental Associates with an in house CBCT, laser, and digital scanner for impressions just to mention a few.
Dr. Vrinda Shah grew up on the Caribbean Island of St. Lucia, an experience she wouldn’t trade for anything. There, she saw a country where health and dental care were too often considered luxuries. Wanting to be part of a solution, she immigrated to the United States to pursue higher education. Her experience assimilating to a new culture taught her the importance of adapting to change and persevering through challenges—two skills essential to excellence in dentistry.
Dr. Shah is a double gator, having received both her undergraduate degree in Microbiology and Cell Science and Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Florida. She has remained true to her calling for serving others through local dental missions in Florida such as “We Care” and “FreeDOM” clinic, and internationally in Ecuador and her home country of St. Lucia.
She enjoys advocating for her patients both in and outside of the clinic. While with her patients, she prioritizes their concerns and goals, and works closely with them to achieve dental health and a smile they are proud to show off. Outside of the clinic, she maintains memberships within the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, Brevard County Dental Association and Academy of General Dentistry. She takes pride in these involvements, as her participation helps her stay on the cutting edge of innovation in dentistry and provide the best possible care for her patients.
Outside of the office, Dr. Shah enjoys baking, salsa dancing, golfing, relaxing at the beach and spending time with friends and family. She looks forward to providing you with comforting, professional and gentle dental care.

Cosmetic Dentistry Q & A
Is a smile makeover right for me?
No two smile makeovers are the same. Drs. Chace and Dr. Shah offer complete and partial makeovers personalized to match your aesthetic goals and dental health. A smile makeover means having at least one cosmetic dentistry procedure to beautify your smile. This can be as basic as an in-office whitening treatment or as extensive as a complete mouth reconstruction.

Dental Implants Q & A
What do dental implants do?
For many adults, having dental implants is the next best thing to having natural teeth. When you lose your teeth as a result of a traumatic injury, decay, or an illness, it can hurt your self-esteem. Strong, durable, and aesthetically attractive, dental implants help restore the simple confidence that comes with having natural teeth.
A dental implant is a titanium post that Dr. Chace surgically places into your bone, beneath your gums. The metal post becomes a permanent base for a replacement tooth. This is essentially the root of a new tooth. It’s similar in shape to an everyday screw. Once the post is in place and your mouth fully heals, a process that typically takes a few months, Dr. Chace mounts the new replacement tooth (crown) on the post . The implants integrate with your bone, which makes them incredibly steady and secure.
These metal posts also work to help dentures, crowns, and bridges stay firmly fastened to your jaw.
Why Invisalign Is Better Than Braces
Is a mouthful of metal actually a better option over crooked, misaligned teeth? What if you could avoid both? General and cosmetic dentist Gregory Chace, DMD, FAGD at Gentle Dental Associates in Melbourne, Florida provides Invisalign® and SureSmile clear aligner options for straightening teeth. Call Gentle Dental Associates or schedule an appointment online today if you want to straighten out your smile without the appearance of traditional braces.
Invisalign Q & A
What is Invisalign?
You have an innovative new alternative to braces: Invisalign. With Invisalign, clear plastic aligners fitted over your teeth will align your teeth little by little over time.
You need to wear them at least 20 hours per day for the ideal results, but the aligners are removable for teeth cleaning and easy eating. When you’re not eating or brushing your teeth, Invisalign aligners should stay in your mouth.
Why might Invisalign be a better option for you?

How Fast Does Teeth Whitening Work?
One of the most affordable and easiest ways to improve your smile is with teeth whitening. At Gentle Dental Associates we use the Zoom professional teeth whitening system to create outstanding smiles. The professional dental team at Gentle Dental Associates in Melbourne, Florida can conveniently whiten your teeth in a matter of hours. To find out more about teeth whitening, schedule a consultation over the web or call today.
Teeth Whitening Q & A
What makes my teeth yellow?
Your teeth can turn yellow for a variety of reasons. Certain medications, the stuff you drink and eat, and your age can all play a role. The enamel on your teeth can get surface stains from drinks like red wine, tea, and coffee, and this can make your teeth appear yellow. Major culprits also include smoking and tobacco.
Eventually, the surface stains can get even more challenging to get rid of, because they soak deep into the enamel of your tooth to the dentin.
Is teeth whitening safe?
How does the Zoom in-office procedure work?
Cracked, stained, or misshapen teeth can make you think twice before smiling. The dental experts at Gentle Dental Associates offer porcelain veneers as a way to make your smile look and function better. Custom veneers can help you feel and look your best. Both Drs. Jennifer and Gregory Chace attended LVI (Las Vegas Institute) for advanced training on veneers, so you know you’re in good hands when you visit Gentle Dental Associates in Melbourne, Florida. Call or schedule a consultation online.
Veneers Q & A
Why should I consider veneers?
Veneers help re-create the appearance of your natural teeth with a thin layer of porcelain. Each veneer is custom-fitted to your individual teeth, then one of the skilled cosmetic dentists at Gentle Dental Associates bonds them to your existing teeth. Veneers fix flaws such as cracks, gaps, stains, or misshapen teeth. In addition, they help reinforce frail teeth.
Porcelain is the most common material used for veneers due to its stain-resistant properties and its ability to replicate the look of natural tooth enamel. After looking at your case, one of the doctors will work with you to develop a customized plan to meet your needs and desires.
What is the process for getting veneers?
What are some advantages of veneers?
Custom dentures aren’t just a set of replacement teeth. They’re a path toward freedom, offering you the opportunity to smile, chew, and speak with confidence. Jennifer Chace, DMD, FAGD, LVIF of Gentle Dental Associates and her team can provide quality dentures. They work closely with a local lab to ensure the denture’s good quality and esthetics. Located in Melbourne, Florida, the experienced team can help you speak, eat, and smile like you used to with the best denture option for your lifestyle. Schedule a quick consultation online or call today.
Dentures Q & A
Are there different types of dentures?
There are different types of dentures that range from the more traditional type all the way to fully implant supported/secured dentures. Each case is different and deciding which type of denture is best for you comes from a conversation with one of the doctors to learn about your needs and desires.
Designing a new denture is a chance to really help design a smile. There are choices to make about tooth shapes and shades, as well as the gum shades.
What are immediate dentures?
What if I need denture repairs?

Sleep Apnea Q & A
What is sleep apnea?
Sleep apnea is a condition in which your air passage has blockages that restrict air flow while you sleep. Not getting enough oxygen at night can cause you to gasp or choke for air, or snore loudly, waking you up repeatedly when you try to sleep.
With sleep apnea your body, and brain, are not getting the sleep they need to function properly. The condition can drain you of energy during the daytime, keeping you from feeling your best at work, school, or in social situations.

Why should children go to the dentist?
Why is it important to have an orthodontic evaluation at a young age?
We understand emergencies happen and try to make every effort to accommodate when a patient, or prospective patient, has an emergency arise. We work to make time for the patient to come in the same day if possible so we can figure out what is wrong and make a plan to fix it. Ideally, if time permits, we will treat the issue on that initial visit.
